CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES
The Tufton Silver Challenge Trophy; awarded to the Champion Pony in Classes 1-21. Judging for this Trophy will be asfollows:
The 1st and 2nd prize winners in Ring 1 (Classes 1 - 7) together with the 1st and 2nd prize winners of Class 10 from Ring 2 will be judged to find a Champion Female Pony. In Ring 2 the 1st and 2nd prize winners of Classes 8, 9 and 11-14 will similarly be judged to find a Champion Male Pony.
These two ponies, together with the Champion Ridden Pony in Classes 15 - 21 (from Rings 3 and 4), will go forward to be judged by the two In-Hand Judges and the Open Ridden Judge from Ring 3 for the Tufton Trophy. If, for any reason the Open Ridden Judge cannot be available, then the Novice Ridden Judge from Ring 4 will be asked to take his/her place. All three finalists should be presented as they have won for this judging. If the judges wish, they may ask for the Ridden Pony to be stripped.
Champion Sash for the winner is donated by Mrs Morland.
The Sylvia Mary McCosh Memorial Rose Bowl; presented by the McCosh family, and awarded to the Breeder of the Champion Pony. A prize of £10, presentable on the day of the show will also be awarded.
The Lakeland Cup; presented by Miss B Walker, awarded to the best pony of 2 years old and under. First and 2nd prize winners eligible. Champion and Reserve also qualify for Glyn Greenwood M&M In-Hand Pony (for details see below).
The Shawfell Silhouette Memorial Cup; presented by Mr and Mrs Gooderham and to be awarded to the Champion Foal.
The Toby Tankard; presented by Mr and the late Mrs Dobie and awarded to the Champion Pony in the Ridden Classes 15 - 21. First and 2nd Prize winners eligible.
NPS Mountain & Moorland Ridden Silver Medal Rosette Championship: A Silver Medal Rosette is offered by the NPS for the best ridden pony (Champion or Reserve only), provided the Exhibitor is a current full member of the NPS (membership card to be produced in the ring). The winner is entitled to compete in the NPS M&M Ridden Wahl (UK) Ltd Silver Medal Rosette Championship to be held at the NPS Summer Championship Show in Malvern in 2005, providing they send to the NPS Secretariat, the relevant entry fee and the entry card provided with the Silver Medal Rosette.
The Farleton Trophy; presented by Miss Claire Simpson and awarded to the Champion Male Pony in Ring 2.
The Alan Shuttleworth Memorial Trophy; presented by Eva Shuttleworth and friends, and awarded to the Champion Female Pony in Ring 1 and Class 10 from Ring 2.
The Jim Bell Memorial Trophy, presented by Mrs Frances Bell. To be awarded to the Reserve Champion Female Pony in Ring 1.
Fell Pony Society Challenge Cup; presented by the late Lady Yule. To be awarded to the best Filly or Gelding of 3 years old. likely to make a good riding type. First and 2nd prize winners eligible.
The Heltondale Lucy X Cup; presented by Herr and Frau Müller, and awarded to the best filly of three years old to have been bred by a registered native heath breeder. Present owner need not be a native heath breeder.
The Packway Bellman Trophy; presented by the late Miss P Crossland. and awarded to the pony gaining the most points in Riding, Driving, Handy Pony, and W.H.P. Classes. Ponies must have entered and participated in at least three out of the four listed elements in order to be eligible for this cup.
The Littletree Trophy; presented by Mr and Mrs Woolley and awarded to the best Junior in the Ridden Classes 17 and 18.
The Briar Trophy and special rosette; presented by Mrs E Marshall and awarded to the Best Turned Out Pony and Rider in the Ridden Classes. A'Special’rosette will be awarded to the Best Turned Out Pony and Rider in each of the Ridden Classes and these competitors will go forward to be judged for the Trophy. The Judges will be looking for the rider who is turned out neatly, correctly, and safely, and whose pony has well-fitting, safe, and well cared for tack.

PLEASE NOTE: The judge reserves the right to ask any exhibitor to leave the ring whose harness he/she considers to be unsafe. Competitors may then make the appropriate adjustments or repairs before being allowed to return to the class.

1) Jumping Phase: A minimum of 7 substantial fences of rustic, hunting type, with a change of direction included.
2) Ponies completing Phase 1 will then be judged for conformation etc. Marking: Phase 1 Jumping 50 points. Style while jumping 10 points. Phase 2 – Conformation and Freedom of Action 20 points, Breed Type 10. Manners 10 Points. Total 100 Points. Please note: Rule 5 (Class 33) applies to these two classes.
