Fell Pony Society Trotting Events
Rules
- All ponies MUST be registered with The Fell Pony Society.
- All competitors must have a saddle and bridle (any suitable), there will
be no traditional bareback race, on account of stipulations of the public
liability insurance. Whips must not exceed 30 inches.
- All races will be approximately 1 mile.
- If a pony breaks into a canter you must circle immediately, failure
to do so will result in disqualification.
- All ponies entered at owner's risk.
- Hard hats to current safety standards must be worn at all times whilst
mounted and suitable footwear with a heel. No spurs.
- No stallions allowed to race.
- On the grounds of safety, runners in each race will be limited to 8, heats
may be run with a final.
- The general rules of our host show MUST be adhered to at all times.
- The decision of The Fell Pony Society Trotting Event Committee is final.
- It is advised that all ponies are covered for public liability
insurance before racing. The Fell Pony Society accepts no liability for any
accident or damage to any animal, vehicle or exhibitor.
- A handicap system will run throughout the year, whereby winning ponies
will start a distance behind the main field in subsequent races.
